MiiVerse Posts Now Support Tags

The newest MiiVerse update will now allow the players to “tag” their posts with whether it is a question, accomplishment, impressions, retro or if  there are players wanted.  Another change is within the MiiVerse Code of Conduct which now instructs users to: ““Do Not Let Others Use Your Nintendo Network ID””, which is a fairly minor addition compared to the tags. Any post t...

Weekend Discussion: Importance Of Diverse Heroes In Gaming

This weekend’s discussion centers around something hinted at in an advertisement for Pikmin 3.  In the second bullet point, of the pic above, it states that Pikmin 3’s Brittany is “one of the many playable female characters in upcoming Wii U games”.  Now, we have seen many female protagonists in the past, such as Samus, Lara Croft, Ms. PacMan, Peach, Zelda, etc…  But,...

Sakurai: Super Smash Bros. U Won’t Include Characters From Fighting Games

If you were hoping to see someone from Street fighter, Mortal Kombat, or River City Ransom in the new Super Smash Bros., don’t hold your breath.  According to Sakurai, it isn’t going to happen. “The biggest feature we look at in Smash Bros. is, ‘What does this character bring to Smash Bros. that other characters don’t?’ If you look at… someone from a fighting game already, and people l...

Last week, in Japan, the Wii U sold approximately 22,200 units, compared to the previous week in which it sold 13,950 units, resulting in a sales increase of 169%.  Many have attributed this jump in sales to the release of Pikmin 3, which sold over 100,000 copies in just the first two days.  Sure, some of those Pikmin 3 customers already had a Wii U, but not all of them.  It will be interesting to...

For anyone that receives email updates from Nintendo, this is likely something you have already seen.  For those that missed it or do not receive email updates, Nintendo is running a short promotion on the eShop.  An important note: this promotion is only listed for the Wii U eShop, not the 3DS one. Basically it works like this:  If you add funds to your Wii U eShop balance between now and July 28...

Weekend Discussion: Third Party On Nintendo, What Can You Do?

One thing I have noticed about third party games on the Wii U/Nintendo in general is that there is a lot of negativity around the lack of support, despite the current 3rd party games, and those scheduled to release. There is no doubt that everyone reading this post is a Nintendo fanatic.  Whether you are a hardcore fan, or a casual Nintendo fan, you are undoubtedly here because you like the compan...
