Wii Sports cleans up at BAFTA

Wii Sports BAFTAJust like the Red Sox will do in the World Series, Wii Sports won big at the BAFTA awards.

The plucky title with enough staying power to stay relevant for the next 20 years took home awards for Best Casual Game, Best Gameplay, Best Innovation, Best Multiplayer, Best Sports, and Best Strategy and Simulation–all categories that lead me to believe this is a game that will ultimately stimulate even better ideas down the line.

Okami won won for best artistic achievement, which is weird, because it’s not done in HD /sarcasm; and rounding out the list with game of the year was BioShock. I’m totally OK with that, considering it’s a pretty good game and Super Mario Galaxy (38/40, via Famitsu) isn’t out yet.
