Uh oh. Last Story sales are slumping abroad

So if you haven’t heard, Mistwalker’s newest game The Last Story is out in Japan. The sales numbers show that the game had a great first week, where it sold 118,953 units and was #1 on the Japanese sales charts. Week two for The Last Story wasn’t so great with sale dropping 99K and coming in at #7. What does this mean to us English speaking folks who really, really really want to play this game?

Well we still don’t know if this game is coming to North American or European territories, and that should make you cry. That’s what it does for me anyhow…or maybe that was the salsa. In any case, if the sales don’t meet the expectations of Mistwalker, they may very well decide to cancel any translation of the game and keep it a Japanese exclusive forever. What does that mean to you? Well the sales drop should worry anyone outside of Japan, or people who own good Japanese translators.

Should all Wii owners care about this startling revelation? Well but of course! Not having to wade through countless battle menus is enough for me to put it on top of my must have list. If you haven’t seen any gameplay yet check out this video and see how unFinal Fantasy this game really is.

Now where did I put my online petition?
