On today’s show Scott Pratt, Harrison Milfeld and myself (Lewis Pugh) talk Pikmin, Nintendo’s Q2 fiscal report and finally end with a feature celebrating 100 million Wii’s sold! Also on a side note the browser media player should now be fixed for all. Of course you can enjoy the Enhanced Edition goodness on iTunes and most Podcast Apps, giving you images and chapters. Miyamoto took some time away from E3 2013 to do a short impression of an enemy from the Pikmin universe. In short, it’s one of the strangest, yet entertaining six seconds of video one will see today. Enjoy! Special thanks to Kevin Cassidy of Go Nintendo TV for finding this gem.
Shigeru Miyamoto has announced he is working on a series of animated 3D shorts based on the GameCube debuting series; Pikmin. Nintendo gave a taste of what to expect to the media, showing a clip of main protagonist captain Olimar blending Pikmin into a large smoothie, but is then comically revealed to be just (PikPik?) carrots. In an interview about the new project, Miyamoto said “When Olima...
Miyamoto spoke to Games Master Magazine and revealed that Pikmin 3 will be more like the original. “That’s actually something that all the staff members had to debate over when we were discussing what kind of direction we should take for Pikmin 3. First of all by looking at Pikmin 1 we noticed that it wasn’t a very easy game for people to play, and from time to time they had to feel some stress.” ...
Nintendo of America has shared some great news for fans of Pikmin and Mario Tennis! On June 10th, 2012 NoA will release Pikmin 2 and Mario Power tennis for the Wii as part of their “Nintendo Selects” line of games. Both of the classic games will be available for the low price of $19.99. Nintendo also announced that Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Donkey Kong Country will now sell for the...
Miyamoto just dropped a bomb. Pikmin was a Wii title but was canned and is now coming to Wii U. Miyamoto wasn’t supposed to talk about it, but he felt like it so he did! Good news for Nintendo fans, bad news for everyone waiting for Pikmin Wii. Apparently we won’t have to wait long for the game, maybe a Wii U launch title perhaps? Who knows! I for one am certainly excited though!
So Pikmin 3? Yeah, they’re working on it, but Miyamoto and company stress that this is not the news we should take away from the show today. So, just keep in mind, Pikmin 3 is coming, but it’s not news. Pay no attention to this.
Before the dust settles after this morning’s press event, I am already thinking about E3. With almost all of Nintendo’s loose ends tied up this morning, that leaves me thinking about what they didn’t tell us: the second half of the year.
