  1. Who can even say what their favorite game was, there were so many.

    Ok it was Kid Icarus.

But I would just like to say that one game that doesn’t get enough credit on these types of lists but that I truly loved was Rygar.

Damn that was a great game.

  2. Sweet Home. That game was awesome.

  3. Maniac Mansion till we die!

  4. I gotta say a toss up between Metroid and The Adventures of Link being my favorite games!

  5. I am “found” of The Legend of Zelda.

  6. So hard to choose!

The Legend of Zelda has to be my favorite. It’s what pulled me in and has never let go of me. 🙂

    Very honorable mentions:
    SMB1-3
    StarTropics
    Faxanadu

    h.t.

  7. Super Mario Bros.
    Rush n’ Attack
    Contra
    Metroid
    Zelda
    Punch Out!
    etc… (too many to count)

A lot of time also spent on all of these games. My parents got mad at my brother & I, needless to say, we missed many dinners.

  8. The Legend of Zelda
    Super Mario Bros
    Super Mario Bros 3
    Kid Icarus
    Ice Climber

  9. Blaster Master
    Metroid
    Legend of Zelda

A boy and his Frog, man.

  10. Also: Megami Tensei 1 and 2 were awesome, too.

  11. zelda I and II obviously…
closely followed by final fantasy, both star tropics, and, dare i say it?, Captain Skyhawk. Nothing outside of Afterburner in the arcade made flying as fun as cpt skyhawk. you and the cap’n make it hap’n.

  12. The Legend of Zelda is an instant classic.

Holy crap, Rygar was AWESOME. Anyone remember River City Ransom? SMB3 with the Raccoon suits and everything was monumental. Blaster Master was great, too. So many games … Revolution, I await the arrival with bated breath.

  13. The Legend of Zelda.

Followed closely by Castlevania 2: Smon’s Quest, Super Mario Bros. 3, Goonies II, and Metroid.

Oh, and River City Ransom rules.

  14. Megaman 2.
    Duck Tales.
    Little nemo
    Super Mario Bros Series.
    Punchout!
    Contra.

  15. As a kid

TMNT (Only Person i know who beat it)
Metroid (Beat it and saw Samus in Bikini)
    Mario 3 (Beat it)
    Super C (Beat it)

    Teenager

    TMNT
    Zelda (Beat it)
Mario 2 (Beat it so often it was my TV’s Screensaver)
Punh Out (Never Beat Mr Dream 🙁

    Today

    Super C
    Zelda
    Metroid
Blaster Master (Best Opening Scene ever)
    Double Dragon

    My Wife
Bubble Bobble (She Beat it, and one tiem i beat it with her)
Zelda (Beat it and master quest twice…then I proposed)
    SMB3 (Beat it)
    Double Dragon (Beat it)

  16. DOuble dragon 2

    the ultimate beat em up!!!

  17. Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!

    Absolutely… =-)

    And double dragons!

Hey Frisby, if you want to beat Mr. Dream // Tyson, it’s all in the way you dodge him. As soon as he’s about to strike, dodge to your left, and as you dodge to your left press back the right direction, it’s gonna move like twice as fast to the center position. It’s the only way to beat him =)

  18. HEY REMEMBER TO INCLUDE BATTLETOADS IN THAT LIST.

VERY ORIGINAL AND FUN GAMES(FOR THAT TIME)

  19. 2 games I remember very well because I had those as a kid and with English as a second language I couldn’t understand much of the text in them so it wasn’t until a year or two later of owning them that I got to figure them out then finished them and it was a blast.

It was Golgo 13 and Faxanado

    My other favorites are also:
Battle Toads: nothing like playing with you older brother then kicking him with a big boot off the screen
    Super Mario 1 and 3
    Double Dragon 2
    Strider
    Duck Hunt!

  20. Battletoads is my example for awesome graphic late in the system.

Play Mario 1 and then play battletoads.

  21. I CAN ONLY SAY: NINTENDO WORLD CUP best multiplayer game ever!!!
I play it always every day , and today 🙂
