Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D to feature photo camouflage system

When the Nintendo 3DS was revealed at the 2010 E3 in Los Angeles, one of the titles that was supposed to make the ”˜launch window’ was Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D. Five months later, 3DS systems are without  a Snake (solid or otherwise) to showcase the capabilities of the system. Although it has been revealed that North American 3DS owners will have to wait until 2012 to play MGS:SE 3D, Hideo Kojima has taken to twitter to reveal a few of the games more interesting features.

The Nintendo 3DS version will allow gamers to use the built in camera for photo camouflage allowing Snake to dress up as whatever picture was taken. The example given by Kojima has Snake changing into garments resembling a Tower Records shopping bag.

I have to admit that I have never experienced the Metal Gear franchise outside of the NES original, and am excited to give MGS:SE 3D. Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes is one of the titles cluttering my pile of shame that I have yet to play. Perhaps it’s about time to give it a whirl.

Do you like the Metal Gear series? Will you be picking up Snake Eater for your 3DS?
