Liberal, conservative — we all love Mario

Mario politicsInfendo doesn’t lean one way or the other as far as politics are concerned; we just love Nintendo. Hint: That’s a good thing (Independents FTW!).

However, if you happen to lean to the right or left, you’ll be happy to know that Mario is welcomed with open arms everywhere. According to a recent Zogby poll, everyone loves the plucky Italian plumber:

Apparently, not only is the country “sharply divided on the topic of politics, it is also deeply split in the types of entertainment and information that appeal” to each faction. According to the survey, conservatives (which Zogby refers to as reds) make up 37% of the population and “don’t play a lot of video games, but when they do, Madden NFL and Mario are their favorites.” Liberals (or blues) make up 39% of the population and “play video games a lot more than other people,” with “Mario and The Sims” ranking at the top of their preferences.

As for moderates, the results are similar: Mario is liked by them too. In fact, I’m going to go ahead and endorse Mario and Luigi for the presidency right now. The world, I think, would be a better place.
