IR Banner 337Hello all, and welcome to the latest episode of Infendo Radio! In episode 337, Colin Crompton and I (Holly Fellmeth) talk about what we’ve been playing and finish with our feature: Infendo Fresh Look. The idea for this feature came from listener Jason Odermatt, to whom we’d like to extend a big thank you!

In addition to being a girl gamer, Holly prides herself on being a red-head. Consequently, the blue shell in the Mario Kart series is her natural enemy. Don't worry, though: she still loves Mario Kart and is very good, despite the occasional blue shell-sabotaged race. Like any Nintendo fan, Holly also loves Zelda, Pokemon, Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, name it. But she'll try just about anything (besides horror games) and has a soft spot for unique, little-known rhythm games like Rhythm Heaven and Samba de Amigo. NNID: Aeroweth

  1. Oh how it hurts to hear such negative thoughts on the Wii U. Being a Nintendo gamer and fan since 1985, I can honestly say that this is may favorite Nintendo System since the SNES. It has best versions of Smash Bros and Mario Kart. Mario 3D world is a wonderful blend on 2D and 3D Mario. I absolutely love Retro’s DKC and Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 are gems from Platinum games. Nintendo is catering to Nintendo fans right now and I couldn’t be happier. I can’t wait for their line up in 2015!

  2. The Wii U has great games, no doubt about it. But I find most of them to be pretty light and/or short experiences. I beat Wonderful 101 in about 10 hours, moved on to a 3DS game. Beat Pikmin 3 in about 10 hours, moved on to a 3DS game. I occasionally play a bit of Mario Kart 8, which I consider to be the best-looking Wii U game, then I move to the 3DS for a deeper experience. Same goes for Smash Bros. The only game on Wii U that’ll keep my attention for more than about an hour is Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. And I recently made a “currently playing” list. Out of 8 games, only two are on Wii U. One is on PSP, and the rest are on the 3DS.

The 3DS has a lot of games I can play for dozens of hours, and those are really my bread and butter games. I think Colin and I just happen to think similarly on that front. 😉

  3. I think as I get older I look for the shorter experience games out there. I don’t have hours and hours to pump into a single game like I use to. That being said, I’ve always been a fan of home consoles over portables. I like to be able to share the experience with othere on the big screen. We can agree to disagree :o) oh and I’m getting fantasy life for Christmas btw, so we will have to hook up on there sometime!!!

  4. Yes! We’ll need to set up a voice chat on Skype or something, because that game requires more communication between players than you’d think! 🙂
