Dragon Quest IX

… just check out their nominees for RPG of the year. Way to completely ignore the DS, the premiere RPG platform. Dragon Quest IX immediately comes to mind, as does Etrian Odyssey 3. Let’s all try to name as many 2010 RPG games that they missed. Go!

I’m not surprised that Dragon Quest IX is not in the RPG category because there is a lot of competition from the RPGs on consoles. However, I am shocked that it didn’t make it into the “Best Handheld” category. They have Metal Gear Solid for PSP in there? Lame. Dragon Quest sold really well and deserves to be nominated.

Overall, I think the Spike award nominees are really good. This is a lot better than nominees in other industries, for example the Oscars or Grammys. I remember the Oscars one year when I had not seen a single movie in the list of nominees for best picture that year. Lame. It was then that I realized why I did not enjoy watching the Oscars… because they have become an awards show that celebrates movies that nobody watches!

Me and my 475 hours spent in Dragon Quest IX disagree strongly. I even bought a second copy of the game so I could tag myself at the inn over and over; however, I did at give that copy of the game to my girlfriend when I was done, so now her life will also be consumed by Dragon Quest IX. Seriously, though, I can’t believe it wasn’t even nominated. I haven’t spent so much time playing a video game since Smash Bros. Brawl.

That looks weird to me now. Should I have said “My 475 hours in Dragon Quest IX and I…?”

FF XIV??? Really??? Spike is a TV network by retards for retards; what can we say, ya know? Besides, the VGAs are fixed anyway. The actual industry-backed awards you want to follow are the Game Developers’ Choice Awards and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences yearly awards.

Wait, you mean a horribly shallow, pandering, shell of an excuse for content (Spike TV) is shilling for the typical AAA ‘Industry’ games?

    Get OUT!

Um…how does Red Dead Redemption fit into the RPG category? Isn’t it a FPS? Anyways, how much do you wanna bet Sony and Microsoft bribed SpikeTV to have most of their console-exclusive stuff nominated? 😛

    No Tri???

Honestly? Spike TV?? Do people who play games watch that?

Anyway, I don’t know who they nominated, but Etrian Odyssey III definitely has my vote!
