First news on ZombiU II

Jean-Philippe Caro Creative Director of Ubisoft Montpellier responded to a tweet from a user asking about the possibility of a ZombiU sequel with this message:

“thank you for your interest in zombiu. The team is working hard on a prototype. it´s too soon to tell you more.”

As short as this message is, it confirms that in one form or another ZombiU II (or the unfortunately named ZombiU 2) exists. The game would likely remain Wii U exclusive (the name does help here) with the gameplay focusing heavily on the two screen experience by drawing the players attention away from the TV and onto the Wii U GamePad giving the Zombie hoards the opportunity to sneak up on the player.

ZombiU was critically acclaimed and made great use of the Wii U unique features, even on the tight deadline of the Wii U launch day. I hope this game does get green lit, so we can see what other uses Ubisoft can come up with for this first-person survival horror game. Perhaps that co-op mode that was dropped due to time-restrain in the originals development?

Would you like to see ZombiU II confirmed for the Wii U? and what would you like to see new from a ZombiU sequel?  Let us know in the comments.
