Fire Emblem’s Marth returns for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS

040-MarthMasahiro Sakurai, director of the Super Smash Bros. series, posted a screenshot today of Smash Bros. veteran Marth, which means he’s officially in the roster for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS installments in the series. The official site has been updated to show Marth in the roster amongst other fighters such as Sonic and newcomers Wii Fit Trainer and Mega Man.

Fire Emblem: Awakening has been in gamers’ hands for months now, which begs the question: will Chrom be added to the growing list of fighters for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS? Would you rather see someone else from the series make the cut?

In addition to being a girl gamer, Holly prides herself on being a red-head. Consequently, the blue shell in the Mario Kart series is her natural enemy. Don't worry, though: she still loves Mario Kart and is very good, despite the occasional blue shell-sabotaged race. Like any Nintendo fan, Holly also loves Zelda, Pokemon, Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kirby...you name it. But she'll try just about anything (besides horror games) and has a soft spot for unique, little-known rhythm games like Rhythm Heaven and Samba de Amigo. NNID: Aeroweth

  1. Ike >>>>>>>>>>>>> Chrom

  2. If history repeats itself we will be seeing another Fire Emblem character besides Marth. Probably someone from a recent title like Awakening

  3. For a second FE character, I was thinking maybe Michiah from Radiant Dawn. We need more female characters.

  4. A female character would be good. Though, Awakening -was- the highest-selling Fire Emblem in history. It would make sense to include an Awakening character.

  5. An Awakening character would be awesome. If male I suppose it should be Chrom, if female I’d vote Lucina or Cherche (with wyvern).

  6. Boring.

  7. Well, hey, not every announcement can be Mega Man.
