DS deflects PS3 for massive Japanese hardware sales damage

If I were Nintendo of Japan, I’d have been worried this week that the sale of the PS3 would start to eat into my DS Lite hardware sales.

Japanese hardware sales for November 6 – November 12:

System – Weekly sales (2006 sales)

1. DSL – 148,174 (5,595,283)
2. PS3 – 81,639 (81,639)
3. PSP – 19,123 (1,492,596)
4. PS2 – 16,157
5. 360 – 3,864
6. GBASP – 1,320
7. GBM – 1,213
8. NGC – 496
9. NDS – 279
10. GBA – 12
11. XBX – 3

Hmm. I think I just figured out why I am NOT Nintendo of Japan. I have no idea what I’m talking about. DS Lite sales are healthy, go figure. Healthy enough to outsell every other piece of hardware COMBINED. What will Wii do, I wonder?
