Survey Results

Well the results are in for our Wii games/hardware poll. 66% hope the console embraces both new motion and new traditional controlled games. 32% would be happy with all motion-sensing titles, while only 2% still would have liked Nintendo to develop a “GameCube 2.” Thanks for voting, and hopefully Nintendo can cater to all of the above in some way or another. Be sure to let us know what...

POW Block Speaker

Yesterday at the Chiba flea market I found this old prize from a UFO Catcher machine, a POW block from Mario Bros. that takes AA batteries and has a monophone cord you can plug into any standard 1/8th inch audio output jack. I was pretty pissed that I couldn’t buy New Super Mario Bros. until yesterday since it didn’t come out until this week in Japan for some reason, but being able to ...

Japanese DS Lite Rumble Pak Available

4 color rebellion has posted on a DS rumble pak, specially redesigned to fit in the DS lite without looking chunky sticking out the bottom. The addition is now available via Nintendo’s Japanese online store, and it is speculated to be released in American stores around next month. Since there are a few new games coming out with rumble functionality, a pack-in would be nice, but I’m won...

Logistics Behind Wii Sensor Bar Placement

At E3, Nintendo had the Wii sensor bar nicely built-in the front of some sweet plasma TV’s. In-home gamers probably won’t have that luxury. Granted, the sensor bar is not a large piece of equipment, I just wonder if that little cord will keep it from fitting snug against my flatscreen, just at the bottom. The other option would be to rest the bar atop the TV. Are you at all concerned a...

A great time had by all.” Thanks for sending this in, Dave, and nice park! Do tell where you’re representing. And if any other readers plan on having Nintendo meetup...

Wii under $250; 6M shipments by March 2007

Nintendo has confirmed projections for their Wii console today, though not citing specifics on units available for launch day, and if in fact the console will be priced significantly less than $250. From Nintendo’s press site: “[T]he price of the Wii system, which incorporates unique freehand control, will not exceed $250 in America, or Â¥25,000 in Japan. The company plans to ship 6 mi...
