Another completely online NES emulator

I don’t know if this post will help or hurt Nintendo’s efforts with the Virtual Console because I’m having too much damn fun this morning playing NES titles in an online emulator to care. Another NES online emulator has joined the ranks of everyvideogame.com, and it’s pretty slick. It offers multiple languages, although the majority of the games posted so far are in English...

Wii Channels… now in English!

For a brief moment, I was frightened beyond all comprehension that Nintendo had somehow goofed up, and the Wii Channels would be rendered completely in Japanese. Lucky for all of us, I’m just ignorant and I was looking at a Japanese Nintendo site for all my information. Today, Yahoo! has graciously given us a few screenshots of some unseen Wii Channel images, and they are indeed in English. ...

About that Wii retail box…

Since my nom de guerre was banned at Joystiq, I now have plenty of time to post more items to Infendo, like this update to our Wii retail box post from the weekend. As some may have suspected, the picture looked suspiciously like the non-functional Wiimote that was handed out at some of the recent Nintendo press events (I believe the first images of this psuedo-Wiimote surfaced after the Japan Sep...

Lawsuit Anyone?

So tell me if this sounds familiar:Now with AIM (AOL instant Messanger) you can create a customizable online avitar for yourself called a WeeMee, to play around in some online community called “WeeWorld.” From the site:“They’re taking over the internet! Make your own WeeMee and join the revolution.“Think this is a rip-off? Have a WeeMee yourself? Can it play Tennis or...

MSNBC: Time is right for Nintendo (Wii)

MSNBC thinks highly of Wii and its chances despite Nintendo’s past. From the article: “Four years ago, I suggested that Nintendo drop out of the console race and stick to its handheld and software strongholds. I don’t see it that way anymore. In fact, even though Nintendo is taking some pretty risky chances in launching a revolutionary system, I think the climate couldn’t b...

Wiimote retail box surfaces?

The above surfaced on some forums via Flickr. Though not confirmed, it sure does look legit, not to mention slick. Totally diggin’ the grey box.

Console specific friend codes confirmed for Wii?

N-Europe is reporting that Nintendo Europe has confirmed the use of console specific friend codes for online Wii play on their website. N-Europe fails to link to any actually Nintendo page as they claim however. If true, this would be a nice move in lieu of game-specific friend codes for DS’s Wifi that can get cumbersome to manage (read: less usable for gamers). Here’s to hoping this o...

Video: Wii up close and personal

IGN gets up close and personal with Wii. Slots, plastic, and controller goodness in its small white glory.

Happy 10th Birthday, Nintendo 64!

Ten years ago today, the Nintendo 64 launched in the U.S. Critics can say what they want about the cartridge format, the lack of third party support, and the long wait between games, but there’s no denying the N64 had many successes. After all, this is the system that gave us Super Mario 64, the game that defined 3D platformers. Also, there was Ocarina of Time, which is arguably one of the g...

Reggie the Gamer

When I listen to the typical executive blowhard from any number of corporations talk about their product, either here at Infendo or for my less exciting job as a reporer, they usually don’t sound as though they really, really enjoy what they’re selling. It’s a means to an end; a product to be sold; a way to shoehorn some new proprietary format into the laps of we the consumers. B...

Final Wii Retail Hardware

Just kidding. The name on the box says it all. More pics via the link.
