Could We See Rareware on the 3DS?

Something that I always found interesting is that Microsoft does not offer a handheld version of the xBox.  As the mobile gaming industry is exploding (just look at the 3DS sales), it almost seems that Microsoft has just given up on the handheld game. Something else that I find interesting is that Rareware (wholly owned my Microsoft) has, in the past, released games for the DS.  Diddy Kong Racing ...

U.S. 3DS sales to double the PS Vita in July, says industry analysts

Wedbush Industry’s Michael Pachter and another unnamed analyst from  EEDAR have concluded that the Nintendo’s 3DS sales numbers will double those of the PlayStation Vita in the month of July. This news comes off prediction data compiled from Pachter and EEDAR, which was released days before NPD Group’s own market data. In addition, Pachter predicted that video game software sales...

An opening cinema worth buying the game for

Kingdom Hearts 3D is a wonderful game *and* a fun monster pet sim. On top of that, it features the most brilliant opening cinema I’ve ever seen. It’s very much like a Disney theme park attraction, in that you can’t get the full effect from promo films or Youtube videos; it can only be fully experienced at the source, and in this case that means the dual screens of the 3DS. SPOILE...

Ngmoco, Y U No liek Nintendo Handheld?

Okay, I realize that the title of this article is painful to read.  However, that was my immediate thought when I read that Ngmoco thinks the Nintendo handheld division is about to implode.  In my opinion, they are trying to conjure up some publicity for their “free to play” mobile games.  Those games just so happen to be downloadable for Android and iOS. Ngmoco Ceo Neil Young thinks t...

New Audio Tracks for Theatrythm Final Fantasy

When THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY was first announced, I thought that it would be a pretty nifty little game to pass some time.  What I didn’t expect was that it would be a great game that is constantly adding new content.  For only $0.99 per song, you can download additional audio tracks. Today, Square Enix has released a schedule of  new audio tracks:

Dream Eaters add great new gameplay twists to Kingdom Hearts

My first hours with Kingdom Hearts 3D has pulverized one of my biggest worries about the game; I didn’t think the Dream Eaters would make good replacements for the Heartless, or decent stand-ins for normal sidekicks Donald and Goofy. Turns out, the Dream Eaters couldn’t be more fun, both as enemies and allies. Creating, collecting and customizing your own team of Spirits (good Dream Ea...

New Colors for the DSi

Do you refuse to upgrade to the 3DS?  Is the DSi still your favorite handheld?  This week, Nintendo is releasing two new colors for the DSi in North America.  The new red and blue handhelds have a matte finish. The new colors are arriving after the 3DS has been out for over a year, will you consider purchasing one? On a vaguely similar note, I found this video and had to share it.  As annoying as ...

New Super Mario Bros 2 is Collecting Some Coin!

New Super Mario Bros 2 has only been out in Japan since Saturday, and already it has sold a whopping 431,000 copies!  That is some serious coinage for Nintendo in only a few days. I still have mixed feelings about the game.  It is due out on August 19th here in the US, b I don’t think I will rush out to purchase it on day one.  Sure, I will get it eventually, and I am excited about the class...

Did You Know?

Did you know that Nintendo owns a Major League Baseball team?   Keeping true to their tradition of owning and operating some off the wall businesses, Nintendo of America saw that the Seattle Mariners were hitting a rough financial patch in the 1990’s.  With Help of Nintendo of Japan, they purchased  60% of the team for a whopping 100 million dollars.

Video: Metroid Lore in a Minute

The fine folks of the YouTube channel Lore in a Minute! have recently compiled a Metroid-specific edition of their humorous video game backstory videos. The video, in rapid-fire succession, details Samus Aran’s origins all the way to the end of the original Metroid, along with some bits you may or may have not known about.  In add...
