Activision to release “more original” Wii games this year

Activision’s CEO is sorry he didn’t bet big on Wii. Join the club, buddy. The company has still made a grundle selling Guitar Hero games on Wii, the most of any other console, but it’s obvious that treating the console as gaming ugly’s stepchild wasn’t the brightest strategy in hindsight. In an interview with Reuters this week, the bosshog said:

In the past we approached the Wii as an extension of what we were doing on PlayStation and the Xbox, and I think we can do a better job of creating original content for the Wii, and I think you’ll see more of that this year.

Hopefully “original Wii content” isn’t insipid budget games.
