On a recent trip to Germany, I was super-excited to pull out my 3DS and notice that I had made new friends during my trip. Nintendogs+Cats was even blinking, indicating a new pet owner and his canine pal would be ready for my dog Fleischwurst to play with. Low and behold, I had StreetPass’d with two German fellas; shortly after they would battle a couple of ghosts for me in Save Mii. I love StreetPass and was very happy to see that it wasn’t region-locked.
Unfortunately, after only a couple days in Bavaria, my 3DS needed a charge. Turns out that unlike my iPhone charger, the 3DS charger doesn’t automatically regulate voltage without a proper convertor. It’s too bad that Nintendo doesn’t take a cue from Apple in this regard and include a self-converting power supply!
Anyone else have a fun run-in with someone from a foreign land on their 3DS?
