Nintendo kicked off their 2012 E3 press conference with the reveal of Pikmin 3 for the Wii U. The new footage (video above) showcases the Pikmin universe in glorious high-definition along with a new Pikmin type – Rock Pikmin. Shigeru Miyamoto also went on to discuss the co-operative aspects of the title, which will include various gameplay options from the Wii U Game Pad. In addition to using the Wii U Game Pad to control your Pikmin, the Wiimote and Nunchuk will be used as well. Pikmin 3 will be demoed on the E3 show this week, so Eugene will have his hands-on impressions soon. In the meantime, enjoy footage of Pikmin 3’s reveal.
