Hot on the heels of the reveal of the next-gen Super Smash Bros., Nintendo has confirmed a few tidbits about the Wii U version of the title. On detail in particular is that the title will run in 1080p. The 3DS and Wii U versions of the game are slated for release sometime in 2014, but series creator Masahiro Sakurai has offered more details on the title in a developer direct, which can be seen below. In the video Sakurai mentions why the visual styles are slightly different between the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros., and how the development team was adherent on replicating the classic Mega Man design for both games.

In addition to Mega Man, Sakurai revealed that the Wii Fit trainer would be making an appearance. Her final Smash is, you guessed it, Wii Fit. As of this time, you can see the current character lineup at smashbros.com where Sakurai and members of his development team will update daily.

For years, he has purchased every one of the company's subsequent products (yes, including the Virtual Boy and eReader). It wasn't until he was a young teen when he bought a PS2 that he began to embrace cross-console relations, a decision he doesn't regret. When he's not gaming, Harrison is looking to break into the magazine journalism industry and realize his dream of becoming a features reporter.
