Rumor: Wii price to be dropped to $150, offer $20 “Wii Select” line of games

According to Kotaku, Nintendo will be making the Wii price drop to $149.99 official starting May 15th. Further, a new budget line of games retailing for $19.99 will be introduced. These Player’s Choice ‘Wii Select’ line of games should help stimulate sales with the likes of  The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Mario Super Sluggers kicking it all off.

It is also reported that Wii Sports will join the Wii Select line up, signaling the end of it’s long run as THE pack in title for Wii. Taking it’s place will be Mario Kart Wii.

Good news for Nintendo’s bottom line perhaps, but seeing as how I own just about every Nintendo published Wii title, this news doesn’t really do much for me.

Is anyone in need of a copy of Twilight Princess on the cheap because of a freak animal mauling?
