Revolution Prototype Controller

This image comes from Sock’s Controller Family Tree which gives a timeline of all controller lineage. Very interesting site. What’s even more interesting is that they have posted a picture of an assumed Revolution prototype controller that current developers are said to be using.

I wonder how different the actual controller will look from this one.

  1. If you actually read the desciption, he claims it’s his mock-up, not the real thing.

  2. Well the thing about that one is it looks like a Ps2 clone.

  3. This is a very interesting site…
He says that this type of controller would be the next logical step, but I think that’d be Evolution not Revolution 😉
    We’ll see…hopefully 😉

  4. I know it’s just a mock-up, but I HATE Sony’s analog stick set up, and I’d hate to see Ninty take that style on. I think the Cube controller feels great the way it is… maybe go back to the “diamond” button setup just to shut up the whiners who dislike the big A button.

  5. You know what’s funny? This controller (which Sock has said is his mock-up) came BEFORE the description on Gaming Age. The Gaming Age description is fake, because the person is describing, to the mark, down to the button colors, Sock’s Photoshop.

  6. “First off; This controller does not exist. Okay? It will still be quite a while before Nintendo reveals what their next generation controller will look like.”

  7. MArio is waiting for you?

  8. It better be better than this….

  9. I understand “The Nintendo Revolution Controller” does not exist. Doesn’t a developer prototype though? If so, does it look like this, and if so, how different will the actual controller be.

  10. personally i dont like it and i think its fake they should stick with the gamecube controller analog layout and button layout adding maybe a few more buttons

  11. Something’s seriously wrong in the head of whoever put the analog sticks there… Come on, if you’re gonna make a fake, make a good one!
