No Gamecube controller for Wii version of Twilight Princess

During a Camp Hyrule chat session today, George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications, confirmed that the Wii version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will not support the Gamecube controller; only the Wii controller can be used. Since the game was originally designed for the Gamecube controller, many have been skeptical about whether the adapted control scheme will hold up with a Wiimote. Many gamers hoped they could whip out the Gamecube controller to take the Wiimote’s place if they weren’t happy with the Wiimote’s control scheme. Sadly, this scenario is no longer possible.

This revelation means those on the fence must decide which version of Twilight Princess they’re buying: the Gamecube version or the Wii version.
