Nintendo wins an Emmy

Oh Sony. Sony Sony Sony. Just when the well appears dry, you fill it back up again with more of your wonderfully two-left-footed PR dance moves.

Oh, and Nintendo won an Emmy too, for the same thing Sony won one for this week. Which was not the SIXAXIS controller.

The Emmy Award for Peripheral Development and Technological Impact of Video Game Controllers

* Nintendo
* Sony Computer Entertainment America

Chris Grant over at Joystiq explains: [W]hile Sony had won an Emmy for Technology and Engineering, it wasn’t for the SIXAXIS. Instead, Christine Chin from NATAS confirmed that Sony’s Dual Shock as well as Nintendo’s D-Pad (NES pad?) won “for the development of the generation of controllers that followed the classic joysticks.” Oops! You know what they say happens when you assume.”

Ah, the truth. It’s what’s for dinner.
