VG Charts, which tracks video game sales that are admittedly both “unconfirmed” and “incomplete” using proprietary information compiling, is reporting that Wii has sold more than 3 million units worldwide as of now. That is 40% of the total estimated 360 fanbase in just over a month.
Furthermore, the guestimation site has the DS listed at 35+ million units SOLD worldwide, some two years after the system was first released back in November of 2004. Could that be a faster adoption rate than the very well received GBA? Again, this is all speculation, but I think its safe to say both the DS and Wii are doing just fine for now.
