What a difference an upgrade makes. After it was revealed last week that previously purchased DSiWare games would need to be purchased again (!) in order to play on multiple owned systems, Nintendo suggests it may reconsider its double dipping ways.
“We’re looking into that specific topic, but we don’t have anything to announce at this time,” a representative told me today, after declining an interview on the subject. By no means a guarantee, but it’s obvious the company is aware (if not a bit embarrassed) by how bad this sounds.
Since its release in late 2008, the DSi has never allowed the transfer of downloadable games. But the unheard of DRM policy didn’t become an issue until DSi owners over the weekend expressed interest in moving their existing games to the new DSi XL.
