Nintendo feigning low Wii supply to inflate demand?

A story by GamePro on waning PS3 sales produces an interesting observation on the part of one retailer when comparing the supply chain of next-gen consoles: “I’m not going to deny that there’s an amazing demand, but Nintendo’s supply chain could be a little better.” If true, Nintendo would be walking a very fine line as slow turnover loses them money. But maybe they are a little lackadaisical in resupplying stores to make demand seem a bit higher than equilibrium… Thoughts?
