Another Nintendo Direct has come and gone.  It has been a while since we last had the opportunity to see what is new in the world of Nintendo, so take a look at the details below and let us know if you are excited, or was this Nintendo Direct just fanservice?

Before we get into the details, let’s see what some of the chatterers are saying in the sidebar:

BiggerThanVinny Just give me some localisations and I’ll be happy

Austin Thom They should start bringing in GBA games for people who are not 3DS Ambassodors.

Donnaclus Alright, it’s starting. Keep the expectations low. #nintendodirect

Pariah164 I want more Iwata with bananas.

With about 6 minutes until it starts, the comments are rapidly appearing, almost too fast to read.  so, I will just sip some coffee while I wait.

This Nintendo direct is broadcast Simultaneously worldwide, so there must be something big included.  He starts out with Mario and Luigi Dream Team, and surprise…Peach is kidnapped.  Mario…pictured on the left above seems a bit frustrated that this portion is about Luigi.  They announce that the game will be available on August 11th.

Now, new info about Mario Golf, World Tour.  If you connect your 3DS to the internet, you can play against other players across the globe.  Your score can also be uploaded to play in competitions against others.  You can also play within communities (does this hint against Mii Verse on 3DS?)  This game will arrive this summer.

Now, a new Mario party is announced for the 3DS!  For the first time, there are seven game boards, each with their own rules!  A total of our players can compete at a time.  A new feature will be a dice multiplier.  The game-play will change with each game-board.  There will also be quite a few new mini games.  This game will arrive this winter.

Now, Super Luigi U.  Some new features will include unique capabilities, such as Luigi’s hover jump.  The courses begin with only 100 seconds on the timer, so the stages will be shorter, but also more difficult.  We can expect to see it this summer!
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, a remake of the Wii Version, is modified for shorter gameplay sessions.  Now, you can get hit more (5 enemy hits per player).  There are also more items available, such as a green balloon and crash guard.  There are also 8 new levels that appear after you complete the main game.  There is also a co-op mode.  The original mode is also available in the remake.  May 24th is the release date.

CaptureThe new Yoshi’s Island installment will receive more details in the future.

A new puzzle game, Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, features over 180 levels and also allows you to share custom puzzles with friends around the world.  This will be available May 9th via the Nintendo eShop.

Now, he talks Wii U and the Spring update.  We can expect to see the faster loading times, copying data between multiple hard drives, and automatic updates. The Wii U Virtual Console will also be included in the update.  This update will arrive next week!

Pikmin 3 is now up!  There is a new Pikmin character ( a pink one named Winged Pikmin).  They can fly and carry items in the air.  Pikmin 3 2ill be available in a couple months, more news to come.

Now, Earthbound news.  Since we asked, we can expect to see it available as a virtual download in the near future.

Iwata now leaves and Bill, from Nintendo Treehouse, takes over.  He begins with Game & Wario.  He shows us that the Gamepad will be key in this game and used in multiple ways to win.  Game & Wario will be available June 23rd.

Now Monster hunter.  He recommends watching YouTube videos on the game to help with the game-play.

Lego City Undercover is next.  He let’s people know that soon, since you have played Lego City Undercover, you can soon find out how Chase Begins, soon on the 3DS, and experience his first case.  This game releases in just a few days.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is available June 9th.  A new XL Hardware bundle will arrive with an Animal Crossing theme for $219.99 and include a virtual copy installed.

A new Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy will also arrive in 2014.

3 new Guild titles, Starship Damrey, Attack of the Friday Monsters, and Bugs VS Tanks Will arrive on the eShop soon from Level 5.

Now, This summer we will see Shin Megami Tensai.  Each game will come with design book, mucis cd and decorative slip case on July 16th.

Now, Reggie is up!  He talks about LoZ: Link to the Past 2.  He announces that a new Zelda game will be set in teh same world/timeframe.  It will be an entirely new game, with a new story.  You can download the video today, and purchase the game this holiday season.
