Again, this was sent to us from an unconfirmed source via email and is pure speculation. (The Revolution seems to be getting a lot of that this summer)
Note the Summer 2006 date contradicts the first Revolution ad leak that mentioned a March 2006 release. This thing looks dang sophisticated, even more than the first one, but personally I think it’s got Photoshop written all over it. I could be wrong, but if not, I still like the GameCube styled controller.

What’s that blue thing? It kind of looks like a trackball…
Hmm well it’s probably fake but I too like the GC styled controller, look pretty sleek.
Anonymous
garbage.. looks like a ps2 controller
Harold
Looks like a gamecube controller, with Xbox buttons, and a blue tracker ball.
Now if we could only see what is on the left side…
James
I’m 99.9% sure its fake. I’m a professional designer so if it is real, it’s a heavily CG mockup produced a year ahead of it’s launch.
Unlikely…
While I’m sure Nintendo are actively working on marketing material and concepts for the Revolution, I’m sure one-sheets and print material wont begin this sort of stage until 3-4 months before launch. There would be no point in producing marketing collateral a year before launch using prototype/unfinished hardware.

It’s just way too cryptic. Somebody better get fired if that were a real ad piece.
robotplague
well, IF this were an ad why would they choose this? it’s pointless, it says nothing about what it does or why people should want to play it. it just looks like a normal controller with a trackball. fake.

why why why am i saying this
I will tell you why, i am sick and tired of the crap being posted, even if Nintendo fires me. So what, fuck em.
The controller is real and that ain’t no trackball.
Should i tell you, hell yeah
It’s like gel, it get’s very squishy when touched but goes back to it’s original state when depressed. It will revolutionize the gaming industry.
Touching is good, but feeling is better.

Can you tell me how you got this information sir?
Tony Mora
Yeah, that thing looks way weird.

This is an absolute fake pic:
The button that is labelled ‘X’ in the pic is, on Nintendo controllers and the DS, traditionally called the ‘Y’ button. In other words, the photoshopper messed up by switching the two buttons.

Hahahaha! Oh God, I love when people do that “I’m an anonymous source that works for Nintendo” thing. It cracks me up. If this guy really worked for Nintendo, or was of some authority significant enough to be informed with such knowledge, he would at least know how to type and spell.
He’s as fake as the ad is.
I think if ONE thing leaked from Nintendo, everything would leak. Not just one thing.
And I find a track ball highly unlikely (or, should I say, a squishy ball).
Revolutionary? I don’t think so. Track balls have been used in computer mouses (mice?) for decades. I highly, HIGHLY doubt Nintendo would use a track ball (and nothing else) as their “revolutionary” aspect.
ALSO, the buttons: A,B,X,Y… Hmm.. Would that work with Nintendo 64 games?
No.
Ad = Definitely fake.
Our anonymous friend = Even faker.
Don’t believe anything until Nintendo releases their info OFFICIALLY!
They’re good with this stuff, they don’t let stuff leak. Matter of fact, I don’t think Nintendo has ever let ANYTHING leak.. ever!
So why would they let an ad leak?!
Ha.
Later!
chooch
i dont think nintendo would come out with an ad so dark and mysterious like…iwata said they are trying to appeal to everyone and i dont think that this ad catches eyes in a game store…truthfully i hope this isnt it because i dont like the idea of nintendo trying a more mature and darker approach…the ad that said march 06 was cool…this one in my opinion looks fake but whatever…and if you dont like guys who claim to be part of nintendo, join the club we have jackets!

Hmm, the buttons may be layed out wrong to suggest that is uses LCD interchangeable buttons, much like many have speculated about.
DeathEater
i’m a die hard nintendo fan. but i’m not a big fan of their current marketing, or a lot of their childish games. i think the sort of marketing displayed in this ad would do wonders. why are you all so petrified of a darker approach? let’s be honest, the purple didn’t do it for me, i’d like to meet someone who was happy with that sort of image. the point isn’t if this is real or fake, you guys just need to grow up.
Spud Crowley
I can’t see how someone’s thoughts regarding an advertisement has anything to do with how old or mature they are. If growing up means forfeiting my views and opinions, hand me a diaper.
Sturek
Well…I agree with all of the above 😉
But I wanted to mention that I personally don’t like the date on the Ad ! SUMMER ! What about that March thing ?!? 😉 😀
Seriously, to release a major console in summer…that’d be a bit too revolutionairy…..

OMG!!! it’s a FAKE!!!
Seriously, when nintendo reveals their hand I guess we’ll all need diapers.
James
Summer 06 would be a brutal, long wait.
I think Nintendo are aiming for March – April with May at the latest. This was always there stance, when Sony at one point said they’d release the PS3 earlier in the year, Feb or March Nintendo said well, we’ll be close behind.
But to be honest, I think the last one to hit market will be the PS3. Sony is usually at least 3 months behind on it’s proposed release dates, and the PS3 is one monster of a machine so they might just hold out abit more so prices come down abit.
As far as Nintendo needing a darker image, I wouldn’t say darker so much, but they need a slicker image for sure. The Rev. hardware design is a pretty good direction, its something that most people, young or old will find really cool.
Spud Crowley
Well, I think my purple and grey Gamecube compliments my grey and purple SNES rather well.

I never understood why the American SNES had to be transformed into that ugly grey/purple block of cheese from the elegant, smooth Famicom / Euro SNES design.
PlutoProphet16
My vote is fake! The add says nothing about the revolution! And summer 2006, puh-lease. I also agree that mr.nintendo is a total phony, nothing about that “Jelly button” sounds convincing to me, how is that going to revolutionize anything. I will say that I’m sick to death of all these out of the blue rumors and theories. I really just want a clean cut answer. Anyway, I just started my own blog and am encouraging anyone who wants to talk games to please join me. I’m at http://underpluto.blogspot.com/. I’d love to hear from you

Squishy gel, LOL!
I love this self-parody!

i think its fake but if that guy that claims hes from nintendo is right im still not believing him till i hear it from the president or some higher person from nintendo themselves

the buttons look like M&M’S…
