Impressions: Mario Kart 3DS

My time with Mario Kart 3DS was short but sweet at the Nintendo booth. The game plays exactly how you would expect a Mario Kart title to play, so gamers will be able to jump right in and begin karting without a hiccup.

When your kart hits a jump, it will sprout a hang glider out the back which gives you the ability to glide the kart to the ground. This adds an entirely new element to a familiar franchise which is welcome indeed.

At the Miyamoto round-table it was revealed that Mario Kart 3Ds will be developed by Retro Studios, which gives Nintendo fans another reason to be excited about the game (as if they needed one).

Infendo will have more hands on impressions of Mario Kart later this week!

Eugene lives in New Mexico and has been a life long gamer since getting his hands on an NES. Always partial to Nintendo, Eugene has made it a point to keep informed on all things Mario.

  1. The DS mario kart was my favorite of them all. This one looks even better…

  2. @ViewtifulVance
In the short time I was able to play the game, it was.

  3. This looks like my favorite title of the show!

  4. Looking forward to hearing more info about this one. I saw the preview trailer and they’re bringing back at least two tracks from previous games.

  5. woooow Retro is developing Mario Kart instead of F-Zero?

    Go away.

  6. Retro is only helping in a few things and the track design (like the DKCR inspired track) but it’s mostly EAD on it.
