High Voltage software was on hand at last weeks Game Developers Conference and was showing off Conduit 2, which is scheduled for release April 19. When asked by Siliconera about the status of The Grinder, Eric Stoli had this to say:
The Grinder wasn’t on display because the game is in “vertical slice status,” Eric Stoli, Level Designer, explained. Since High Voltage Software is still searching for a publisher the studio is waiting to see if they will need to change The Grinder by making it more action packed or perhaps adding RPG elements. Stoli specifically mentioned those points, the latter of which surprised me.
Good to see that the title is still in the works and that we can expect to see some elements added to it to help differentiate it from certain other games. The Grinder with a RPG-like leveling system, sign me up!
Another interesting item High Voltage had on hand at their booth was a tech demo of The Conduit running on 3DS. The game is said to be a prequel to the original Conduit, but nothing else is known about the title. Knowing that the folks over at High Voltage are hard at work on the 3DS make me excited and ready to purchase my system in 16 short days.
Nintendo fans should take note of all the hard work that High Voltage has put into Nintendo consoles. It’s great to see developers who aren’t afraid to make games for Wii after all. Now do we have anyone with a few million dollars lying around who wants to publish a game?
Which High Voltage title has you most excited, Conduit 2, The Grinder, or perhaps neither? Let us know!
