Last week I featured an article about a NES tribute album called NEScapism. This week, I have another tribute album to introduce you to!
I received a message from the webmaster of a Metroid fan website called Shinesparkers. He wanted to let us know about the upcoming release of a fan arrangement album they are putting together called Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run, an expansion to an album they released last year, Harmony of a Hunter. This album features 40 tracks supported by a huge amount of musicians including Martin Leung (Video Game Pianist) Laura “Flute Link” Intravia, Chris Apple and many more. The previous album had 36 tracks by 24 musicians and groups, supported by some top OCRemix contributors such as zircon and Darkesword.
If you visit the site, you will not only be able to view some videos showcasing the new album, but also download the previous album absolutely FREE! Not only can you download the album, but also the cover art for the CD case, as well as CD labels!

The previous album had the support of websites such as Destructoid, Nintendo Life, The Escapist and OCRemix, and I am sure 101% Run will have the same support. The album is slated to be released in mid to late November, and will also be available free to download.
A press release, dated August 8th, 2012, states:
“Shinesparkers are delighted to be releasing a third preview for our expansion Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run! Due to the popularity of our original project Harmony of a Hunter, which was created in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Metroid franchise, we decided to create a follow up to feature tracks that did not make it the first time around. 101% Run offers talent from the first album combined with some fresh new faces, bringing something new to the overall experience. The album still promises the diverse range of talent and genres you heard on Harmony of a Hunter, and we hope that it will be just as good as the original. Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run will be a two disc digital release, available free for download in November, allowing us to express our passion and love for the Metroid series once again.”
I have downloaded the first album, and love it. What are your thoughts, are you anxious for the second?
