First DS Online RPG

Upcoming DS game, Contact, will support the Nintendo WiFi Connection. Contact is an RPG that follows the adventures of a boy named Cherry while he helps a nutty professor find the lost components of his spaceship.

It’s not completely clear how online Contact gameplay will work, but details should be forthcoming. The Nintendo WiFi Connection logo now appears on the Japanese Contact website.

  1. can we get a transator?

  2. I don’t know what a ‘transator’ is, but I took a look at the official Japanese site, and the screens look just gorgeous!
Wi-Fi or not, I’m getting this one as soon as it hits the U.S.!
(Or maybe I should get the import earlier and learn Japanese??)

  3. Looks pretty awesome! I’ll definitely have to pick this one up.

(@InvisibleMan) By the time you would learn Japanese, the game would have already come out in the US. XD

  4. Those graphics truly are stunning.

Augurs well for the Rev methinks!

  5. forgive me and my horrid spelling…

    *Translator

Dosen’t make sense with out the L huh?

And if you do learn Japanise then will you “TransLate”?

  6. I’ll have just been in Japan for two days when this game is released there so I’ll make sure and post a review as soon as I can! As for now I’ll start working on translating the Japanese site today!

  7. awesome. i just hope it may turn out to be similar to a mmorpg.

  8. I’d like it to be an mmorpg as well, but I don’t see it happening that way based only on the plot. Or maybe I just can’t picture how it is supposed to work. It seems to me it will be more like an Animal Crossing: WW thing, where certain people can come to your island and such.

  9. Isn’t this the game people were mistaking for an Earthbound sequel/spinoff at one point? From what I’m finding online this is the game from the developers of Killer 7.

    Some info on the gameplay:

I saw some scans on another DS site of some of the costumes but I can’t seem to find it…

Well I tried to look at it as that being the “main” plot with many smaller things going on that you could have groups also help along. The only problem is no game company is bold enough (yet) ecause in doing so you alienate all non WiFi users.

Also how many mmorpg’s are both online and offline? Very few if any I am sure.

It would be cool though to have multiple people join in on your cause to sub-missions on a totally diffrent part of the game.

Kind of like how WiFi Mario Kart has its own portion of the game, but the game is functional and good on its own without the WiFi. The same goes for Animal Crossing and visiting other peoples towns.

I just want a MMORPG bad. If only.

  11. We all know that this title is going to be Wi-Fi enabled. But since it is a third party title, wouldn’t we have to pay for that? Oh well… Online RPG with beautiful art direction, I’m all for it

  12. Well tony hawk was was free. No one plays it but still, its free.
