Next-Gen looks to history to predict launch title review scores for Wii come this November. They’ve averaged launch title reviews since mid-1995 for PlayStation, N64, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and Xbox 360. Here’s what they found:
- 10.5% have scored 100% to 90%
- 25.7% have scored 90% to 80%
- 36.2% have scored 80% to 70%
- 19.0% have scored 70% to 60%
- 8.6% have scored below 60%
Though I’m a firm believer that game reviews are almost as inflated as college grades, 90%+ reviews are for the most part a good indication of a solid game. But then again, Wii doesn’t appear to be following history when it comes to “next-gen.”
