Crazy Japanese Quiz Game

The most current game on Nintendo’s Japanese Game Cube release list? It’s “Densetsu No Kuizu Ou Ketteisen: The Legend of the Quiz Tournament of Champions,” a quiz game that lets you use the microphone peripheral to answer questions in game show fashion. Apparently the game boasts over eight-thousand questions in eleven different topics that range from food, sports, and history, to things like anime and Japanese comics. The game features different modes of play based on the rules of various Japanese TV game shows and the game can be played with up to four people. All though Nintendo’s Japanese website mentions the gamer’s ability to learn new things while playing the game, I’m guessing that like Mario Party, the focus of the game is to get four people on your couch screaming answers at the TV. US Release? I don’t think so!

  1. I was thinking about this the other night when we were watching Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy. It would be really fun to play Wheel Of Fortune with the mic. Every control for the game could be vocal. “Spin” “Solve” and all the letters would be easy. Actually, I could see them making one of those “plug-into-your-TV” games (like the Pac-Man or Atari controllers out there) with a mic before they put it on a console system.
