The rumor section in the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly says that Nintendo will not work on a new Zelda game right away, but instead will give Tingle a shot to star in his own Wii adventure. Supposedly, Nintendo is inspired by the fairy-wannabe’s DS RPG selling well in Japan (it’s sold 87% of its total shipment). Keep in mind EGM’s rumors tend to be fairly hit or miss,...
Joystiq’s having some fun at Nintendo’s expense this weekend, literally and figuratively. Literally because they’re one of the recipients of a free review console, and figuratively because they’ve managed to make the Wii “Memo” Channel look kind of, well, useless. The pic speaks for itself, as they were able to bang out a note to Billy in a few seconds on a Wii ...

Gamespot is playing the Wii in their studio and broadcasting it live on a webcast. They’re currently playing Monkey Ball and it looks to be a blast with the new motion controls. They also had a controller with a bad battery that was making an annoying sound. Funny to watch people play this thing. Hit the source to watch the video.
CNN’s Game Over column examines Wii launch day units and TV ads. From the article: “It feels to me like Nintendo is going to have between 600,000 and 800,000 units at launch… expect many stores to be restocked on Black Friday..” Farrell added he expects Nintendo will ship 1.5 million Wiis to the U.S. by the end of the year. Reggie on Wii ads: “Core gamers know when we...
You don’t control the player’s movement in Wii Sports Tennis. That’s a fact. To some it represents a problem, to others who remember games like Duck Hunt or Time Crisis, not so much. Regardless, some people are worried that Wii Sports is still a glorified tech demo. From Reggie’s intro letter to Kotaku (who just opened up a real live Wii today): “But don’t be fo...
