One pin shy of a perfect score in Wii Sports

The above image comes from dansays’s Flickr page. He was one pin shy of a perfect 300 score in bowling. Bummer. But that’s an awesome score none-the-less. My right-hooking self has only managed a personal high of 199. You?

Poll – Do your friends know?

This week the Department of Infendo Polls asks: Do your friends and family know you’re a gamer? Yes, and so are they! Yes, but they think I’m crazy. No, but I’m not ashamed! No, it’s a secret to everybody.    And the results from last week’s poll:

Live action hamster video game

It doesn’t get much better than this: A live action Commodore 64 emulation of Monty on the Run with a real live hamster (in case you haven’t seen it). Baddies, elevators, and warp zones all included. It freaks me out baby, yeah! [via Boing Boing]

Nintendo has best Wiik ever

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaqHEc_m2wA]Game, set and match as far as I’m concerned. Once you get Best Week Ever on VH1 you’ve basically won. Console war? Console what? Sigh…

Wii Sports trick list (goodies within)

GameFaqs has compiled a nifty little list of Wii Sports tricks including how to change the color of your bowling ball or tennis court, how to pitch underhand in Baseball, and this goodie tip: “In bowling, if you aim your arrow to the very end of the lane, then move your character to the end aswell, you can throw the ball onto the other players lane, most likly it will go in their gutter, but...

15 Minutes of Fame + 1 Wii… In Japan!

By way of kotaku I found this blog entry from a Japanese man’s site who created a cardboard costume of a Wiimote to wear while standing in line to pick up a Wii at the Yuurakucho Bic Camera. The man, who could not sit down the entire night, became an overnight celebrity as he was interviewed on Japanese TV and featured in the Yomiyuri Shinbun (Japan’s largest newspaper) the next mornin...

DS bling: 18k gold stylus

So I have the outrageously overpriced Mario shirt from Dolce and Gabbana, and now I need something equally ridiculous for when I’m wearing that shirt and playing my DS Lite. What to do… what to do… Oh, I think I’ll move to Canada and get a blinged out 18k gold DS stylus from Future Shop. The gold plated toilet just wasn’t in the cards baby, but this is definitely doab...

Wii sells out in Japan

Duh. The Wii sold out in Japan; in some locations, like the Bic Camera in the popular Akihabara district, 1,500 Wii consoles sold out before the store’s doors even opened for business. Overall, an estimated 400,000 units were sold in Japan at launch. Coupled with the 600,000 confirmed sold in the States, this puts Nintendo’s latest console at the 1 million mark worldwide. As a heavy br...

What is the ‘perfect game?’

Gamasutra asked an interesting question last week in their weekly “Question of the Week” segment. The question? “How important is the length of a video game for you, as someone involved in the industry? Is there a particular ‘hours per $ purchase price’ that makes sense, or are there other sensible measures of re-playability beyond simple linear mission modes? How sho...

Wii, eggs, and a spoof

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnxEnoosh4Q]A little spoof of that Sony commercial from recently. Pretty good case here where the copy is ten times what the original was.

Too much Mario?

An article over at nintendoplayers.com ponders the over-saturation and abuse of Mario’s image. The article says that Mario has not only represented Nintendo for 20+ years, but also video games in general. Unfortunately we only see a true Mario title once per console cycle lately. This doesn’t stop Mario from making appearances elsewhere. From the article: Mario’s appearance in EA...
