Wii sells out in Japan

Duh. The Wii sold out in Japan; in some locations, like the Bic Camera in the popular Akihabara district, 1,500 Wii consoles sold out before the store’s doors even opened for business.

Overall, an estimated 400,000 units were sold in Japan at launch. Coupled with the 600,000 confirmed sold in the States, this puts Nintendo’s latest console at the 1 million mark worldwide. As a heavy breathing baddie I once knew might say… Impressive. Most impressive.

According to Next Generation, Nintendo has continued to hold firm on its 4 million unit year end promise.
