Looks like each system except the N64 gets a new title on the Virtual Console today:Donkey Kongâ„¢ Country (SNES, 800 Wii Points): Donkey Kong Country is an incredible island adventure, and the first game to feature Donkey Kong’s sidekick, Diddy Kong®. Challenged by the crazed tribe of reptilian Kremlings, the Kongs face their cunning adversaries armed with lightning-quick moves, chest-poun...
In a recent interview with MTV (you know, the one where Reggie said Metroid 3 was probably delayed and wouldn’t have online play), an interesting bit about a Nintendo Power Wii Channel popped up. “We have a tremendous amount of old Nintendo Power content … that we could present to consumers,” Reggie told MTV.” Ever since I moved out of the ol’ Castle de Cougar o...
Advertising Age examines what really makes Nintendo tick lately, namely differentiation. The crux of the article suggests that different thinking wins consumer hearts, not better technology or even better products. DS is an excellent example of this. The machine power is extremely dated; graphics, processor, even the touch screen. But the approach and application to handheld gaming is very differe...
Infendo and football* fan, Jason, watched Andrew Surman score a hat-trick for Southampton when they beat Barnsley this weekend. He also spotted a new promotion Nintendo is running in the UK. A couple lucky footie* fans get to play Wii in front of thousands of spectators. Click the image for more details. Looks like there will be chances to play at matches across the UK through April. *soccer, to u...
Thanks to Kotaku I caught wind of this crazy-amazing video-game inspired papercraft site with instructions and constructed photos of various video-game models, many of which are from our beloved Zelda franchise. The papercrafts themselves are downloadable PDFs that have been made using actual in-game bitmaps and can be downloaded with or without folding lines. These complex kits will take a ton of...
Yup, this is still news; Nintendo products have dominated yet another chart/top 10 list/gamer’s virgin innocence. The Wii is getting plenty of good press these days, but would you believe the yellow stained SNES is making a comeback? Over at Amazon’s public top 25 bestseller list, things look a bit like this (NOTE: the list is constantly changing): 1.Wii Play2. Wii3. Wiimote4. Wii Nunc...
From some random blog: “For those of you out there who still don’t have a Wii, unless you must play Wii Sports, bide your time. At the rate we’re going, we’ll be well beyond the six-months after release before another good title hits shelves, and by that time, the Wii will likely be available everywhere.” Agree to disagree. But then again, most everybody in this room ...
It’s long. It’s good. It’s Infendo Radio #46. Wii, DS, and all that jazz. Enjoy! Radio Feed iTunes Feed MP3
Bias aside, Infendo Radio is probably one of the most well thought out, polished and professional podcasts I listen to today. Scott and Blake get in, get things done, and get out — and the whole time it’s just an enjoyable experience all around. Oh, and it keeps even I, Infendo writing ninja and Nintendo momma’s boy Jack, informed. Keep it up Scott!
I love Schadenfreude, so I love this bit of stock news from Seeking Alpha. Hint: Wii demand persists into February. I visited no less than 6 stores on Monday night – EB Games, GameStop, Best Buy and Target. None of them had the Wii in stock. I spoke to one of the employees at GameStop and he told me that they get Wii shipments from time to time, but the units sell within minutes. Talk about ...
Looks good, but I still want to shoot that stupid laughing dog.
Saska, a self proclaimed gamer, mother, and geek, posted a recent experience getting her family’s Wii fixed on her blog, Fiendish Glee Club. After recognizing Saska’s phone number as a local number near Redmond, the Nintendo rep told her to “just bring it on in to Nintendo” for repair. My favorite part is when the Nintendo rep waits for her son to finish the level of WarioW...
