U.S. gamers could have their hands on a black Wii console to match their black Wii controllers as early as May, according to several retail folks who know such things.
As for an exact date, retail moles at Target, GameStop and Future Shop all hinted the console variant could be on their store shelves by May 9, with a Canadian release on May 23. The console would be sold as part of a Wii Sports Resort bundle, complete with MotionPlus add-on, for $199.
Japan, as you’ll remember, has had black Wii consoles since the summer of 2009.
