Wii U Titles Fall Off UK Charts

After a lackluster week in sales the only Wii U title to remain on the UK charts is Nintendo Land, which landed at the 39th spot just before Sonic Generations.  Is it lack of interest, lack of advertisement, or lack of product that is causing the low sales?

After the jump is the list of top 40 UK software titles.  But before we go there, I think we need to give the Wii U the praise that it deserves.  We cannot blame sub par 3rd party support for the downfall.

In fact, there are some great games that have come our way as a result of that 3rd party support.  We have to remember though that creating a game for the Wii U is not the same as creating a game for the other consoles.  There is a lot of work that goes into porting a creating a new game to take advantage of the use of the game pad, as well as other system features.

The Wii U is a fantastic system, and will undoubtedly get more and more third party games in the future.  We also cannot leave out the future of Nintendo mainstays such as Zelda, Metroid, and possibly some of the classics such as Donkey Kong and Star Fox.  We may not have seen every desired game at launch, but we did get a large number of launch titles to cater to everyone’s wants.  This system is only a month old, as of tomorrow, and many seem to treat the console as though it has been out for a full year without the release of third party games or the launch of a new Zelda.

For those that are on the fence, take the gamble.  You will not be disappointed.  For those of you that are angry at the current selection of games, please give it time.
