THQ CEO Brian Farrell has predicted “healthy sales” for the Wii, and said his company will remain on board to release additional titles in 2007. Do I smell a Sponge Bob Squarepants sequel? Hmm?
But in all seriousness, Farrell was also quite confident that the system would reach the multi-million unit goals Nintendo has set for it.
And, it wouldn’t be a Jack post without a little dig at Sony, now would it? Unlike with the Wii, Farrell and other THQ execs were “cautious” about the PS3’s chances, opting to wait until next year for the installed base to solidify before committing a vast amout of resources to the system. Translation: If no one buys it, then we won’t make games for it.
