Skullgirls 2nd Encore Sneakily Slides Onto Switch

Back in the early half of the 2010’s, Skullgirls was all the rage – A polished 2d fighter with sharp hand drawn femme-fatales and solid gameplay, the game performed well and quickly became something of a cult-classic.

If you’ve been browsing the Nintendo Switch eShop, you may have noticed the enhanced version of the game has finally made its way to Switch – and we don’t have long to wait. Skullgirls 2nd Encore will be playable on Nintendo Switch on October 22nd, and retails for $24.99 at launch.

Skull Girls 2nd Encore was originally exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and Playstation Vita and features a number of enhancements over the original version of the game. These include a fully voiced story mode, challenges with unique battle conditions, as well as an endless mode and a Trials mode that challenges players to master combos.

One of the key features of the original Skullgirls 2nd Encore launch was its cross-buy between other Playstation units, which unlocked the game across all platforms upon purchase. Whether cthis feature is available for Switch and Xbox users remains to be seen, however given the 4-year gap between releases, it seems doubtful PlayStation players will be able to play the game on their Nintendo system without purchasing it on Switch.
