Nintendo axed three original 3DS models in Japan. Today we mourn the dearly departed Cosmo Black, Misty Pink and Ice White. It is survived by the remaining original 3DS colors — Gloss Pink, Light Blue and Metallic Red — and a plethora of special edition-themed handhelds available and yet-to-come. I always thought Japan had too many hardware colors/themes anyway. It appears Nintendo felt the same way. After all, why focus on color variation when your product sells like hotcakes?
