  1. >>Phil Harrison, executive vice-president of Sony Computer Entertainment, says that any competition with Nintendo is “irrelevant.”

“The idea of a handheld rivalry with Nintendo is an irrelevance,” Harrison said in an interview. “Those formats don’t appear in our planning. It’s not a fair comparison; not fair on them, I should stress. That sounds arrogant, maybe, but it’s the truth.”<< First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. (Ghandi) Now, one could argue that Nintendo is still winning the portable war, but I think the quote fits regardless. Strange observation — how is it that Sony has become more of an ass than Microsoft in all this? Being number one isn’t all its cracked up to be, no?

  2. Tbph, I really do wonder who the micro is aimed at.

This may possibly be the last year of major software releases for GBA/micro.

The last GB I owned was Color. I bought the GBA but eventually took it back for a full refund due to the dark screen. Also bought the SP but took that back for a full refund too due to the washed-out colours and blue-tint on the screen.

And now it’s probably a bit too late for me – many former GBA releases like Harvest Moon, Advance Wars and Mario Kart are coming out on the DS anyway. Considering the micro is released on November 5th here in the UK and Mario Kart DS one week after, I may as well wait for the superior version on the DS – and the other superior versions of GBA games on the DS.

Bought DS on launch day though – it really is a first class unit!

  3. f sony!!! whatr an arrogant jerk!!!!!

  4. That’s what I like about Nintendo. There aren’t too many big companies these days that don’t go out of their way to make as big of an ass of themselves as possible. Anyway, the Micro will be sure to sell to the trendy, superficial iPod crowd better than the PSP could ever dream of.

  5. I said it and I say it again:
The GBM really makes me want to hold it in my hands and play with it, but I just don’t see a reason to spend 100 bucks on this small nice, stylish…..hmmm….I’m still considering one 😀
