Keiji Inafune was the mastermind behind the Mega Man, Onimusha, and Dead Rising series among others…that was until he and Capcom had a falling out of sorts after 23 years with the company. What has Inafune been working on for the last year since his departure? Well one project has emerged, and it turns out it is a 3DS game.

KAIO King of Pirates is one of the first games Inafune and his new company Intercept has publicly revealed, and if the trailer is anything to go by, it should be quaky adventure to say the least.

The games official site contains a statement from Inafune about his imagination for the game:

“In battle, the strong wins and not necessarily the right. In battle, the last man standing is right. If this is true, what is needed for heroes is not ‘righteousness’ but ‘strength. There’s still some work to be done before completion. Meanwhile, please watch the teaser trailer over and over and wait for Kaio patiently. All good things come to those who wait. I will not disappoint you.”

No word on when Kaio King of Pirates will be released, or if it will even receive an English translation, but considering the trailer contains English subtitles, I would say that it is a safe bet.
