When the Playstation 2 was announced, one feature that made me excited about the then next-generation of consoles was the promise of an evolving boot-screen. That over time, the PS2’s animation would change and evolve. But it’s years later and I’ve only seen two distinctly different boot-up animations on the PS2. Now with the Wii it’s been reported that a pre-launch update has changed the boot-up screen with a flashy new Wii animation. Since it is so easy for Nintendo to distribute these miniature system updates, do you think evolving boot-screens are in the system’s future? What about new boot-screens as a 10 point purchase on the Wii shopping channel?
