Colt’s Choice 4/26/20

Hey there fam, it’s your boy Colt and I’m back with another choice of the week! I deeply apologize fo not delivering one last week, I had an accident and tore the ligaments in my ankle so I have been mainly sleeping and taking medicine for the pain. None of that matters now though because I’m back baby! I have a Nintendo game that I have been sinking many hours into and I think I can bend the rules a tad to let this bad boy in so without further ado, let’s get to it!

My choice for this week is a treasure called The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past! Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge LoZ fan and with being stuck in my bed off my feet this week, I have been firing this up with my SNES controller (purchased through Nintendo with an online subscription) and it has honestly been giving me joy! For those that don’t know, I was born in 1995. My first Nintendo console was a Gamecube. My older sister had a SNES that she barely let me play and even then, didn’t own this great title so I never got the chance to experience it until I bought a SNES classic. It has quickly become one of my favorite 2D Zelda titles and I haven’t been happier!

If you’ve played any Zelda game, you understand the basic story line. Ganon kidnaps the princess and takes over the land, it is your job to stop him. Now, what makes this game twist and has its own interesting take, the world is split into two sides: the Light World and Dark World. With it, both maps have different layouts. You must use this mechanic to traverse the land and find hidden spots by switching back and forth, including some dungeons!

If you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, you can play this bad boy in the SNES app on the switch! Guys, if you haven’t played this masterpiece I strongly suggest you do! You can sink HOURS into it exploring and stopping baddies while appreciating retro games and where video games in general have come from!

So that’s it boys and girls, I hope you enjoyed it! Have you tried this classic? Have you enjoyed it? Let me know in the comments section below and as always….. GAME ON!!!!
