Wired admits it was wrong about Nintendo

From the July 2008 issue, in a short article called Revenge of the Wii:
In January 2003, when we last spoke to Nintendo’s secret weapon, lead designer Shigeru Miyamoto, we urged him to start making games with a “grown-up aesthetic” — you know, something like Grand Theft Auto. Thankfully, he ignored us. With more than 20 million Wii consoles sold, Nintendo is now winning the videogame wars.
Be sure to click on over to hear Shiggy’s thoughts on his first hardware creation, the traditional controller, games as software, and quality control that shuns Sega in favor of more Mario.

That’s right. Nintendo is winning the video games war. The little system, the Wii, that was going to crash and burn horribly is actually winning. Finally Nintendo has prooved that it is the best to the puplic. Only we know that Nintendo has always been the best.

Miyamoto: I’m always instructing my game designers on the history of the characters and worlds we’ve created. Often we’re in development and I’ll say, “Oh, this looks like a Sega game. We need to make it look more like Mario.”

nintendo won so big with the wii..especially by releasing its key titles.. 3rd partys now are forced to diversified cause all different genres of nintendo’s profile sold…unless they want to complain for their own stupidity..cause nintendo still has donkey kong country, kid icarus, a new zelda etc..to rely on…. and the wii offers the only true next gen systems.. when was the last time you were watching sports and the commentator was counting the number of sweat on kobe bryants face..?

Good.
Finally, a large name business admitting they were wrong.
Maybe Wired will be an influence to all of those other horrible critics biased against Nintendo. Maybe not.
But at least someone has now admitted they should have been more open minded in the beginning.

Its true mario is in fact some kind of demigod…. however one or two more grown up games in the mix would enable the big N to please everyone not Just almost-everyone!
