Nintendo and Gamestop pimping DS to ladies
Saturday, October 18th, 2008 at 1:17pm by DavidAt my local mall, I saw that Gamestop was having a contest to win a DS. After asking to enter, I was denied. “This is a ladies only contest.”
Called “Me Time”, the event let the ladies try out a pretty wide variety of DS games on pink handhelds. One of the women here just won a DS in fact. Time to go cheer on my wife!

What a great idea…its about time Game Stop reached out to thier customers…
seems like they are copying the up and coming Play N Trade Video Game Store that has been doing tournaments and “try before you buy” for some time now….

Just an anecdote, I saw a lady in middle age lady in a business suit playing New Super Mario Bros. on the subway the last week.

Interesting event… I still don’t like Gamestappo.

That’s odd, I would never think GS would do a contest not related to an upcoming game release. This has to be the managers idea and not the company.

If you really want that pink DS, put on a wig and high heels. It’s as good as yours.

I’m a 29 year-old husband and father of four…and I have pink DS. What’s the big deal?

Nothing at all…being a 31 yr old father myself. I’m just assuming that since it’s for ladies only and they are competing on pink ds’s, the color of the ds prize would be pink. By all means, rock the pink dad! If I saw you in the wild playing your pink DS I would simply walk up to you, give you a high five and say “Wudup Pink!” The main focus of my post was my tip on how to get the ds since they wouldn’t let him compete, not on the color of the system. To alter a page out of Martin Luther King Jr.’s book; Ds’s shouldn’t be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of the games in them. Oh yeah…I own silver, white, and PINK DS’s myself. Now then…back to gaming.

Actually this also brings up a good poll question to post in the future. What color is your DS?

I got the White one. I will always get the basic first color of a system… except the SP. I got a red one. If the DSi comes out in black at launch, then I might get it, though.
