The other $50 Nintendo took from my wallet this weekend

Call me crazy, but these days the main purpose of my Wii has been to entertain while friends are over. No console is better equipped for this as just about anybody can pick up a Wii remote and figure out how to play, Nintendo designed it this way. So as I slowly cycle out my four Wii Remote + Wii Motion Plus Voltron-like contraption for Wii Remote Plus controllers, Wii Play: Motion seemed right up...

Your 2012 gaming plans according to Nintendo

E3 may be long gone, but this week Nintendo has outlined the games gamers will be gaming (see what I did there?) on Nintendo consoles in 2012. Notably absent is any mention of recent Japanese releases Last Story and Pandora’s Tower, which many gamers were hoping would help fill in the gaps until Skyward Sword and Wii U. Wii isn’t totally dead in the water though, check out Derek’...

Happy trails: Ten best Wii games remaining

Remember when consecutive vowels were the most confusing thing about a Nintendo system? Those bygone days when console names didn’t end with text messages? And U thought a remote seemed like a crazy idea. Nearly five years have passed since Nintendo launched its revolution, a small white console with a silly name that suddenly doesn’t seem quite so silly. Its pace may have slowed in re...

According to the fan site Zelda Universe, the plot in the upcoming Zelda title Skyward Sword includes an openly romantic relationship between the two main characters, a first for the long-running franchise. Zelda Univ...

Check these out: Every Wii trailer Nintendo showed this week

Nintendo headlined E3 with Wii U this week. But they did show a few Wii games, some of which look like a lot of fun. Although not enough to keep Wii owners interested until the release of Wii U next year, here’s everything Nintendo showed for Wii this week:

Impressions: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Skyward Sword was one of the most polished titles available at Nintendo’s e3 booth, which is a relief to fans who remember the technical difficulties the title was experiencing at last year’s show. The Wii Motion Plus is absolutely essential to the titles gameplay. In the dungeon demo given at the show, Link faces off a...

Wall Street Journal of Japan confirms 6-inch Project Cafe controller screen

Here’s the news in Japanese. In summary, the paper confirms the controller will feature a 6-inch “tablet-like” screen for controlling games. Camera and built-in battery also reported. The paper says the system will arrive by the middle of next year. I’m gonna hold my thoughts until I actually see this thing.
